The agreement, which reportedly includes an option for a permanent transfer, was approved by Barcelona’s sporting director, Deco.
This move comes as Liverpool addresses a shortage in their defensive line. The club recently transferred center-back Ibrahima Konaté to Real Madrid, and their young defensive acquisition from Rennes, Jérémy Jacquet, is currently not fully fit. Under the terms of the loan, Liverpool will cover the 27-year-old’s wages, estimated at £180,000 per week.
