Luang Pho Narong, the respected abbot of Wat Phutthanimit in Kalasin, has passed away at the age of 71.
On August 7, 2026, Khaosod Online reported the passing of Luang Pho Narong Chayamangalo, the abbot of Wat Phutthanimit (Phu Khao) in Sahatsakhan District, Kalasin Province. The revered monk, known for his dedication to both spiritual practice and the development of the temple, passed away peacefully at 1:47 PM. He was 71 years old and had served in the monkhood for 38 years.
Following his passing, a ceremony to move his remains was presided over by Phra Tham Wachiraniwit, advisor to the regional ecclesiastical governor, at 2:30 PM. The temple, which has become a significant religious landmark in Kalasin under his guidance, saw a large gathering of disciples arriving to pay their final respects.
