Grab Thailand Reports Surge in Urban Health-Conscious Travel
Data from Grab Thailand indicates a significant rise in trips to public parks and gyms, alongside a growing demand for healthy food options among urban residents.
According to a report published by Khaosod Online on August 7, 2026, Grab Thailand has observed a notable shift in the lifestyle habits of urban residents. Panomkorn Jirasathienpong, Assistant Managing Director of Marketing at Grab Thailand, stated that the popularity of fitness trends like HYROX and a general focus on longevity have influenced consumer behavior.
Data from the platform shows that ride-hailing requests to major Bangkok public parks—such as Lumphini, Benjakitti, Wachirabenchathat (Rot Fai), and Bueng Nong Bon—have increased by more than five times. This surge is particularly concentrated during the early morning hours of 4:00 AM to 8:00 AM, as well as the evening window between 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM. Additionally, trips to gyms have grown by 30%.
This health-conscious trend extends to food delivery, with over 10 million orders for zero-sugar black coffee and matcha, and 3.3 million orders for chicken breast dishes recorded annually. For travelers and residents, this data highlights a growing urban emphasis on wellness, which may impact traffic patterns around popular recreational areas during peak exercise hours. While these figures reflect current platform usage, it remains to be seen how these behavioral shifts will influence long-term urban infrastructure or future public health initiatives in the city.
