Autopsy Results Released for Bawornthat Pengsuk in Thailand
Thai forensic authorities have conducted a secondary autopsy on the body of Bawornthat Pengsuk, known as 'Hlun Solo', following his death in Georgia.
On August 6, 2026, the Central Institute of Forensic Science (CIFS) in Thailand released preliminary findings regarding the death of Bawornthat Pengsuk, also known as 'Hlun Solo'. The secondary autopsy was performed at the request of his family after the body was repatriated from Georgia. Assistant Professor Dr. Woravee Waiwut, Deputy Director of the CIFS, stated that the initial examination showed no signs of physical assault. While most organs appeared normal, the heart showed irregularities, prompting forensic experts to collect tissue samples for further laboratory analysis, including toxicology screenings.
Preliminary findings indicate a failure of the cardiovascular and circulatory systems; however, the exact cause of death remains inconclusive. The CIFS is currently coordinating with Georgian authorities to obtain original autopsy reports, blood test results, and crime scene data to compare with their findings. This process is intended to determine if there were pre-existing heart conditions or the presence of toxic substances. The family has expressed satisfaction with the transparency of the process and plans to transport the body to Kalasin province on August 7 for funeral rites. For residents and travelers, this case highlights the importance of international cooperation in forensic investigations. Further clarity on the cause of death is pending additional laboratory results, which are expected to take some time.
