Tragic Death of Huai Kha Khaeng Wildlife Sanctuary Ranger
A forest ranger has died following a fatal encounter with a wild animal in Uthai Thani province, sparking mourning among his colleagues and family.
On August 5, 2026, Khaosod Online reported the tragic passing of Mr. Sakkarin Wichajarn, a government employee serving at the Huai Kha Khaeng Wildlife Sanctuary in Uthai Thani province. Mr. Sakkarin was killed while performing his duties near the Thap Salao stream.
According to reports, the victim’s body showed signs of animal predation, and fresh tiger tracks were discovered in the immediate vicinity of the incident. Following the recovery of his remains from Sawanpracharak Hospital, a funeral service was held at Wat Pong Sam Sip in Lan Sak district, attended by his grieving wife, 11-year-old daughter, colleagues, and local community members.
