ttb Launches New Car-for-Cash Loan Program Based on Credit Scores

TMBThanachart Bank (ttb) has introduced a new car-for-cash loan product that adjusts interest rates based on individual credit scores, starting at 11.11% per annum.

According to a report by Prachachat Business, TMBThanachart Bank (ttb) has officially launched a new 'Car-for-Cash' loan service. The program is designed to reward customers with good repayment histories by utilizing credit scores to determine interest rates based on the individual's risk level. Under this new structure, interest rates for the loan start at 11.11% per annum.

Chatcharit Tangtakoengkiat, head of the automotive lending group at ttb, stated that the bank aims to distribute a total of 5 billion baht in loans over the final five months of the year. The initiative is expected to assist approximately 15,000 customers.

For residents and expatriates in Thailand, this development may be relevant for those seeking liquidity while leveraging existing vehicle assets. By tying interest rates to credit performance, the bank is shifting toward a risk-based pricing model, which could potentially offer more competitive rates for individuals with strong financial records.

As this is a newly launched product, interested parties should verify the specific eligibility criteria, required documentation, and the exact methodology used to calculate credit scores with ttb directly. It remains to be confirmed how the bank will adjust these rates for different risk profiles beyond the starting figure, and whether this model will influence broader trends in the Thai automotive lending market.
