Surin Elephant Round-Up 2026

The Surin Elephant Round-Up is an annual cultural event held in Surin, Isan, celebrating the deep-rooted connection between the Kuy mahout communities and their elephants. Since 1960, this festival has grown into the largest gathering of elephants in Thailand. The 2026 edition features a street parade, a massive elephant feast on November 20, and main stadium shows on November 21–22. Visitors can also enjoy local Isan music, silk weaving demonstrations, and traditional food stalls. While the event is a significant cultural display, organizers encourage visitors to research current welfare standards regarding performing elephants.
