Sawa+ — Safety
Sawa+ Safety Guide

Stay on the platform first
Keep the conversation in Sawa+ messaging for as long as possible before moving to an external app or phone number. This gives you time to get to know the person and keeps you protected by our reporting and blocking tools.
Never send money
Never transfer money, cryptocurrency, gift cards, or access to your financial accounts to someone you met on Sawa+, no matter how urgent or convincing the story sounds. Any request for money, even a small one, is almost always a scam signal.
Never share sensitive documents
Do not share your passport, ID card, exact home address or bank details until you have built real trust, in person, in a safe setting — and ideally never by message.
Meet in a public place
For a first meeting, always choose a public, busy place (a café, restaurant, or community space) during daytime if possible. Avoid meeting at your place, theirs, or an isolated location.
Tell someone you trust
Before the meeting, tell a friend or family member where you are going, with whom, and when you expect to be back. Agree on a check-in message during or after the meeting.
Arrange your own transport
Arrange your own way to get to and from the meeting, without relying on the person you are meeting. This lets you leave at any time if you don't feel safe.
Trust your instincts
If something feels off — inconsistent stories, pressure to move fast, refusal to video call, inappropriate requests — you have the right to end the conversation or the meeting at any time, without justification.
Report any dangerous behaviour
Use the report function as soon as behaviour concerns you: threats, blackmail, requests for money, unsolicited sexual content, or suspicion of a minor or of exploitation. If you are in immediate danger during or after a meeting, contact local emergency services first, then report the situation to SawaLife.
